
Suji Halwa
A traditional Pakistani dessert made from semolina (suji), ghee, sugar, and flavored with cardamom and garnished with nuts. It is soft, sweet, and aromatic, perfect for special occasions and festivals.
Ingredients
- 1 cupSuji (semolina)
- 0 ½ cupGhee
- 1 cupSugar
- 2 cupsWater
- 4 podsGreen cardamom pods, crushed
- 2 tablespoonsChopped almonds

- 5 strandsSaffron strands

Instructions
Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat until melted.
Add the suji (semolina) to the ghee and roast while stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and aromatic, about 7-10 minutes.
In a separate saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the crushed cardamom pods and sugar to the boiling water and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Slowly pour the hot sugar water into the roasted suji while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
Continue to cook the mixture on low heat, stirring frequently, until it thickens and leaves the sides of the pan, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the saffron strands (if using) and mix well. Garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios.
Serve warm as a dessert or snack.
